Pay housing or garage rent

You can pay your rent by monthly Direct Debit on any date of the month.

You can either set up a Direct Debit over the phone, removing the need for paper forms or you can complete the mandate form and return it to us.

You can pay your bill online with a credit or debit card by using our  Online Payments facility.

Your card details will not be stored by the Council and at no time will they be visible, or accessible outside the secure banking network.

Pay rent online

You can use the 24 hour telephone service to pay your rent by using a debit or credit card via our automated payment line: 03300 889 578

We no longer send out rent statements automatically, to help keep track of your rent account, statements can be sent every 3,6 or 12 monthly either by post or email, to set this up, please contact us on 01597 827464.

You can also ask for a statement at any time at your local area officeor by calling 01597 827464.


A quick reminder that the weeks commencing Monday 18th March & Monday 25th March are "rent free".  

Provided your rent account is clear, you will not have to pay rent to the Council during these two weeks. 

However, if your account is in arrears, please continue to pay during this period to reduce any outstanding amount.

If you pay your rent by Direct Debit, then your rent free weeks are incorporated when your monthly payments are calculated.  This is to ensure that you receive your 4 rent free weeks even though you pay rent for the 12 months of the year.
