Llanfyllin C.P. School and Llanfyllin High School

Following a request from the governing bodies of the two schools, the Council is carrying out consultation on merging Llanfyllin C.P. School and Llanfyllin High School, to create a new all-through school in the town.

The Council is consulting on the following proposals:

  • To close Llanfyllin C.P. School and Llanfyllin High School
  • To establish a new bilingual all-through school for pupils aged 4-18 on the current sites of Llanfyllin C.P. School and Llanfyllin High School. 

Consultation started on the 27th November 2018 and will end on the 31st January 2019. The consultation documentation is available below.

  • E-mail the School Transformation Team - school.consultation@powys.gov.uk
  • Write to the School Transformation Team, Powys County Council, County Hall, Llandrindod Wells, Powys, LD1 5LG

In addition, two drop in consultation sessions will be held during the consultation period. These will take place on the following dates:

  • Thursday 10th January, Llanfyllin C.P. School, 4-8pm
  • Wednesday 16th January, Llanfyllin High School, 4-8pm
