New members needed for Powys Local Access Forum
14 January 2020
Residents who cherish the Powys countryside and have the enthusiasm to manage it to the benefit of the public have the opportunity to join the Powys Local Access Forum.
The forum acts as a statutory advisor to Powys County Council, Natural Resources Wales, the Welsh Government and others in many matters relating to open-air recreation in the county's countryside, particularly local public rights of way matters.
The Local Access Forum has a three-year life span, and the council is looking for suitable recruits to start the new forum, which will meet between two and four times a year. The Powys Local Access Forum is looking for people who cherish open air and recreation in the countryside and have the enthusiasm to make a difference.
Over the past three years, the forum has been consulted on the review of the Rights of Way Improvement Plan, permissive access provision for agri-environment schemes and proposed changes to public access legislation.
If you would like to receive an application pack, please contact the Secretary to the Local Access Forum by writing to Mark Stafford-Tolley, Powys County Council, Gwalia Offices, Ithon Road, Llandrindod Wells, Powys, LD1 6AA by telephone 01597 827677 or email@example.com
Those interested have until Friday, February 14 to submit their applications.
